CYDEC Founder, Paul Byles, is also the owner and Director of regulatory and management consulting firm, FTS.  Paul brings a wealth of financial services expertise to the panel. His 25 years’ industry experience includes a former head of consulting of a big four firm and Head of Policy at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.

His industry experience spans banking, trusts, company management, and securities investments business and he therefore has a wide range of knowledge on regulatory issue affecting these sectors.  He is also founder of CYDEC,  the Cayman Islands’ first digital economy conference. During a meeting with government representatives and industry professionals held during the 2018 CYDEC conference, he proposed that an industry body be established to represent the digital sector and support the Cayman Islands Government with relevant policy and legislation development. This led to the creation of Digital Cayman which is now actively facilitated by Paul, Cayman Tech City and a steering group of prominent industry leaders. Paul serves as a non executive director of OfReg and is Chairman of OfReg’s recently established Innovation Committee.
